About the Author
As an Adjunct Professor, La-Doinia Alford-Jefferies works to educate students about the importance of Historical Black Colleges and Universities every day. She is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and a native to Greensboro, North Carolina. With her mother a Former Professor at an HBCU for 40 years and her father an alum of North Carolina A&T State University, La-Donia is truly Aggie born, Aggie bred. Her husband, Michael and two daughters inspired her to write a book about their homecoming experiences as a family.
"I've attended HBCU Homecomings since age 3, it was important for me to share that experience with my own children and children around the world." -La-Donia Alford-Jefferies
Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. of North Carolina A&T State University
"What a great way to share your passion and fond memories with the world and illustrate the importance of college."
I read the book and smiled the whole time. The pictures are vibrant and fun.
What a wonderful idea! I bought this for my nephew and god-sons as soon as I saw it. Thank you for sharing this story so many can relate to. Reminds me of my dad taking my sister and I to all those homecomings at JCSU all the way up to entering an HBCU ourselves.
I love it! Quality is great and the story line is too cute!

A fun, easy reading book for the entire family to enjoy. I love how the author highlighted all of the things that make homecoming AWESOME; the parade, tailgating, Greeks, the football game and walking the yard! Happy Homecoming!
This children's book is nothing short of amazing!!!! It guides you through a true adventure of an HBCU Homecoming. As a HBCU alum, I am proud of the author and illustrator for capturing the magnificent homecoming culture. Great read for children and adults!
As a FAMU grad, I love this book for the kids in my life. Great way to expose kids to Black excellence. Awesome Christmas/ Kwanzaa present.
